SUMMARY: Responsible for defining and driving a sales strategy to increase market penetration and profitable revenue growth across the Defense, Space, Commercial Air, Medical and Industrial markets by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and execute sales strategy to enable profitable revenue growth focused on Value Add capabilities including design, flexible circuits, cable assemblies, PCBA and box build.
  • Responsible for developing and growing relationships with customers at all levels to be able to understand their business to know where and how value can be added towards their business objectives.
  • Increase base business within existing accounts as well as prospect and develop new consumer business globally.
  • Assists in defining targeted customers and markets aligned to business objectives and capabilities.
  • Create strategic and tactical account plans together with the Strategic Business Units and interconnect sales aimed at achieving revenue and profit contribution objectives - updated semi-annually. Monitor account performance vs. account plan and redirect efforts when goals are not being met.
  • Develop and sustain business relationships, and drive high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Drive sales activity using the AirBorn Phase Gate process. Manage and report on all Value Add specific prospects and quoting activity through Oracles Sales Cloud (CRM).
  • Coordinates and partners with Solutions Engineering to drive technical sales leveraging Value Add capabilities and products, as well as defining and driving account strategy, proposal development, pricing and contract negotiations.
  • Develop winning solutions proposals and presentations including a defined value proposition and pricing proposal, proactively and in response to a Request for Proposal/Quote/Information.
  • Collaborate with AirBorn's Contracts, Pricing and Estimating team to ensure alignment of a costing and pricing strategy, coordinating to gather all information from the customer required to quote.
  • Participates in Quarterly Business Reviews with targeted strategic accounts, supporting assigned Customer Focused Teams (CFT) as needed, driving Account and Sales strategy for the CFT.
  • Provide accurate forecasts including risks and opportunities to management - semi-annually.
  • Define and manage budgets for and establishes, directs, maintains, and plans the overall business policies, goals, tools and practices for a business development function. Responsible for staffing, support and performance of business development function.
  • Keep Strategic Business Units informed of market conditions such as pricing, competitor activities, and technology trends and change.
  • Coordinates with marketing to ensure relevant and differentiated value propositions of Value Add capabilities to targeted markets.
  • Network with the business community through public events, speaking engagements, trade show attendance, and vendor and customer visits to gain access to new products and technologies or potential alliance customer opportunities.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through:

  • Bachelor's degree or an appropriate business-related equivalent experience and training; Technical Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten to fifteen years of related experience in strategic business development and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to identify emerging technologies, trends and directions of potential customers.
  • Proven negotiating skills to facilitate contracts and close profitable business.
  • Must be able to work independently as a sales professional and also drive results through our rep and distribution sales channels.
  • Ability to focus time and energy toward productive outcomes; consistently follow through on executing commitments.
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), knowledge and use of CRM tool.
