SUMMARY: Responsible for developing and managing recruitment and selection programs, including screening, interviewing, and testing applicants to ensure sufficient numbers of qualified employees are available to staff location needs; providing ongoing training to hiring managers regarding the recruitment process, training and development of employees, and HR compliance issues. Acts as back-up to location HR issues as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and testing employees of all levels to staff needs of location
  • Assists in designing and implementing a program to promote a trained and motivated workforce, and assists with companywide survey processes
  • Assists with training supervisors and managers regarding legal recruitment and interviewing practices and policies, along with training and development strategies for employees, and HR compliance issues.
  • Assists in designing and implementing employee orientation and on boarding strategies
  • Meets with managers and supervisors to develop specific recruiting plans
  • Assists with developing compensation strategies, revising and creating job descriptions, and grading positions for proper placement
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with college, university, industry sources to generate qualified applicants
  • Responsible for writing advertisements and choosing sources for staffing, and analyzing reports and trends in the recruiting process
  • Assists with general HR issues as needed

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree from a four year university or technical school,
  • Three to five years related experience or training; and /or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write legal correspondence, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients, senior managers, and other employees of the organization, and deal with governmental agencies and their representatives.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with both abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to relate to individuals at all levels while being sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the public image.
