Subject: Change of Insulator Molding Compound for W, R and M-series Products

AirBorn was informed by Ticona - Celanese on January 4, 2019 that, due to very limited usage, it will no longer supply Fortron 1140L7 (L7) molding compound. Please accept this letter as AirBorn’s notification that production of AirBorn W, R and M-series molded insulators , including those used in MIL-DTL-55302 and MIL-DTL-83513 products will transition to Fortron 1140L6 (L6) molding compound during the next ten months. It is anticipated that W and R-series along with Mil 55302 product will be converted by the end of May 2019 while the transition of M-series and Mil 83513 product will be completed by the end of September 2019.

As with L7, L6 is a MIL-M-24519 qualified material with the same GST-40F classification. The material change will not affect form, fit and or function.

Please note that AirBorn’s Nano series and MIL-DTL-32139 products along with verSI, MicroQuad and MicroSI use LCP for insulator material and will not be affected by the change noted above.

If there are any questions regarding this notification please do not hesitate to contact your AirBorn Account Manager / Customer Service Representative.
