GEORGETOWN, Texas (7/6/2020) -- AirBorn Inc., the electronics solutions company known for rugged, mission-critical electronics and rigorous quality standards, announces its electronics manufacturing facility in Taunton Massachusetts has been approved as a certified Federal Aviation Administration and European Aviation Safety Agency Repair Station.

The Taunton facility has long been manufacturing electronics for the aviation industry but the new certification allows the facility to take part in repair and upgrade projects for specialized aviation equipment destined for use in the US and Europe.

The “Part 145 Repair Station” designation recognizes that AirBorn’s team of electronics specialists perform work that meets the quality and safety standards put forth by both the FAA and EASA. Both the FAA and EASA regulations stipulate all aircraft parts be inspected, maintained, and modified (if necessary) by certified repair stations before they can be legally installed in aircraft.

The dual FAA and EASA certifications add to AirBorn’s already robust portfolio of certifications relating to aerospace programs, allowing the company to now offer full-service partnerships with its customers. AirBorn not only designs, builds, and tests highly-reliable electronics for the aviation applications, but can also repair systems with the same attention to process and detail as an OEM build.

“AirBorn’s commitment to being a total solutions provider extends beyond the initial design engineering, manufacturing, and testing process,” explained Robert Kleinschmidt, Vice President of AirBorn’s Defense & Commercial Air business. “This designation allows AirBorn customers access to our talented team of technicians to make upgrades or repairs to their products.”
